Born December 29,1981. Raised in West Islip, NY. Moved to various places over the next few years, including North Carolina, upstate New York, and then back to Long Island by 1993. Graduated from Islip High School in the class of 2000 and went on to Rochester Institute of Technology for an Illustration degree. Life happened, left RIT, worked, moved to Portland, Maine, worked, decided school is best. Moved back to Long Island in 2002. Graduated with honors, earned Associates Degree in Visual Arts from Suffolk County Community College in 2004. Life happened, this time literally; gave birth to daughter Kirsten on March 29, 2005 and continued seeking Bachelor's Degree from Stony Brook University. Moved upstate unexpectedly. Taking courses at SUNY Oneonta to transfer to Stony Brook and finally graduate. Works in oil paint, watercolor, gouache, acrylics, pastels, pencils, charcoal, and digital media. Also, photography: now mostly of the digital sort. Programs include: Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, Macromedia/Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Bridge. Work focuses on various fantasy elements, Asian ball-jointed dolls, social commentary of women, sexuality and other grownup stuff. And some not-so-grownup stuff. Would like to illustrate children's books; perhaps some "children's books for adults". Would also like to write cheesy paranormal romance novels, paint like there's no tomorrow, continue her comic book which has long been abandoned, and perhaps work for a video game production company, if only they didn't require 3D knowledge. Currently, Maureen resides in Oneonta, New York with her 4-year-old daughter Kirsten.
